Central Railway is recruiting 59 Group C sports quota posts (sports persons) for 2025–26. Applications were open from August 1 to August 31, 2025.
Border Security Force (BSF) has released its sports quota recruitment for 241 Constable (General Duty) Group C positions, with selection based on sporting achievements rather than written exams. Application deadline was August 20, 2025.

3. Legal Developments & Policy Changes
The Supreme Court issued notice following a petition by a Goan sailor seeking admission into medical college under the sports quota. This case may reshape how various sports disciplines (like sailing) are recognized for quota eligibility.
The National Sports Governance Act, 2025 has been passed by both Houses of Parliament as of mid-August 2025, establishing a formal legal framework for sports governance, athlete welfare, and dispute resolution—potentially influencing future recruitment and quota policies.
4. State-Level Advocacy & Age Relaxation Efforts
The Haryana Olympic Association (HOA) has urged the state government and HSSC to address the issue of vacancies unfilled for 8–10 years under sports quota, which has caused many athletes to exceed the age limit. They advocate for special age relaxations, consolidated notification, and rapid completion of the recruitment process for roles like Police Sub-Inspector, P.E. Teacher, and Coaching Staff
